A Guangzhou government delegation, headed by the city's Community Party Secretary Wan Qingliang and including city leaders Chen Zhiying and Ding Hongdu, visited Hong Kong on April 8 and 9. The delegation met with Hong Kong chief executive Leung Chun-ying and toured a number of renowned companies. 

During the meeting, Mr. Wan briefed Mr. Leung on Guangzhou's socio-economic growth and the development of Nansha New District, and expressed appreciation for Mr. Leung's unfailing support for Guangzhou and Nansha New District. 

Mr. Wan stated that Guangzhou and Hong Kong enjoy mutually complementary resources and advantages, and that Guangzhou will take advantage of Nansha New District and other major platforms to expand its partnership with Hong Kong and lend strong support to Hong Kong firms operating in Guangzhou. 

Mr. Leung said that the Hong Kong government places much importance on its partnership with Guangzhou, and that with the implementation of CEPA, Hong Kong wishes to deepen its partnership with Guangzhou and will support the development of Nansha District and make greater efforts to complement each other's advantages and secure win-win results.
