On February 28, the research group of Kdnet Data Research Center under the Nanfang Media Group, an independent third-party institution, released the Belt and Road Openness Index Report (hereinafter referred to as the Report) in Guangzhou.
The Report pointed out that based on the index system calculation, in 2014, only Chongqing, Shaanxi and Xinjiang of the nine provinces along the Silk Road Economic Belt scored over 10 points in terms of the openness index, followed by Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai, Tibet and Gansu.
Compared with the nine provinces along the Silk Road Economic Belt, the provinces along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road have higher scores in the openness index calculation. The Report shows that Shanghai scored the highest, 75.09 points, in 2014. The provinces along the Road ranked as follows according to their performance score in 2014: Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Liaoning, Hainan, Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Guangxi. Compared with that in 2013, Heilongjiang showed the largest changes.
Of all provinces along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, Top 3 of the economic openness are Shanghai, Guangdong and Fujian; and Top 3 of the social openness are Shanghai, Guangdong and Zhejiang. |
