In the first quarter of 2016, the output value of the new high-tech products of Guangzhou reached RMB181.695 billion, accounting for 45.3% of that of industrial enterprises above designated threshold of the city and contributing 71% of the growth of such industrial enterprises.
The total electricity consumption was 15.874 billion kWh, with a growth that is 3.07 percentage points higher than national level. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 3.97 billion kWh, accounting for 25% of the total, with an increase of 7.7% year-on-year. The information transmission, computer service and software industries ranked the top in terms of increase of electricity consumption, with total electricity consumption accounting for 15.28%.
The real estate industry showed a stable increase. The volume of transactions of first-hand houses had a stable increase and the price was stable, and the transacted area and average price respectively had an increase of 28.3% and 8.3%. By the end of March, there had been first-hand houses covering an area of 8.53 million square meters for sale and the de-stocking cycle had been shrunk to less than nine months.
The foreign investment in actual use reached USD1.83 billion, up 53.1% (while 4.5% at national level and 1.3% at provincial level).
Total import and export value reached RMB186.4 billion, up 5.2% (while -5.9% at national level and -3.6% at provincial level), ranking the top among seven major foreign trade cities of China in terms of the growth. The export value reached RMB116.11 billion, up 14.4%; the import value reached RMB70.29 billion, down 7.1%. |
