Guangzhou is the top city in China for cross-border e-commerce for four consecutive years, as its cross-border e-commerce had a total trade volume of more than RMB 22 .7 billion in 2017, up by 55.1% year-on-year.
Statistics from the customs show that, Guangzhou’s total imports and exports reached RMB 971.4 billion up by 13.7 percent year-on-year.
In 2017, 220 million cross-border e-commerce manifests were handled by Guangzhou Customs. Nearly 800 kinds of goods were sold to more than 180 countries and regions around the world, while about 22 million consumers in the city spent RMB 12.7 billion on buying goods abroad.
The city endeavors to foster new business formats for foreign trade and improve its trade facilitation.
With the goal of building a cross-border e-commerce industrial cluster focusing Nansha Bonded Port and Baiyun Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Guangzhou Customs adopted seven measures to facilitate customs clearance for e-commerce products.
In detail, Guangzhou Customs has simplified the modifying and cancelling procedures of retail import declaration and integrated logistics and cross-border system. It has realized the automatic audit of goods entering the area, as well as automated clearance within 24 hours.
Since the measures were implemented, unnecessary manual interventions and check procedures are reduced, and hence the city’s development in cross-border e-commerce are smoothly boosted.
The above two bonded zones have now attracted numerous enterprises and brands with more than 100 e-commerce enterprises like JD, Tmall, Suning, Amonzon, as well as over 30 logistics companies including Top Ideal, COSCO, SF-Express, WTD, etc. |
