Plans are now in place for the Metro Line 9 to be constructed to reach Guangzhou North Railway Station and when completed ,,it will take only one hour to get to Huadu Auto City from central Guangzhou. It has now been decided that Metro Line 9 will start construction around May as the successful tenderers for the 5 construction sites in Huadu are announced. According to officers from the Guangzhou Metro Corporation, the enterprises who will undertake the project are getting active preparation to ensure the construction will be launched and finished on schedule.

Metro Line 9 is about 20 km long. There will be one depot, one control center and 8 stations including Feie Ling, Huadu Auto City, Guangzhou North Railway Station, Huacheng Lu, Huangguoshan Park, Huadu Square, Ma'anshan Park and Gaozeng, where passengers can transfer to the Line 3 Extension.
